Why Can Surfactants Be Used As Cleaning Agents?

Jul 08, 2018

Cleaning agent is a kind of agent which can effectively remove surface dirt. In industrial field, there are cleaning agent, cleaning agent, cleaning agent, detergent, soap, washing liquid, detergent and so on in civil life.

So why can surfactants be used as cleaning agents? First of all, we need to understand the properties of the surfactant.

Surfactant is a chemical active agent with two polar groups, which are hydrophilic and lipophilic. The principle of its action in the cleaning agent is that the two phases are considered as components of the phase through the affinity of different parts of the molecule to the two phases, and the molecules are arranged between two phases, so that the surface of the two phase is equivalent to the inside of the molecule. Thus the surface tension is reduced. Since the two phases are considered as a component of the phase, there is no interface between the two phases and the surfactant molecules, which is equivalent to reducing the surface tension and surface free energy by eliminating the interface of the two phases in this way, thus achieving the cleaning and decontamination effect.
