The chemical agents for collecting and transporting mainly include crude oil demulsifiers, anti-wax pour point depressants, drag reducing agents and viscosity reducing agents. Crude oil contains water, affecting storage and transportation, often using demulsifier and/or high-voltage electric dehydration. The earliest demulsifier used was Turkish red oil. Modern and effective demulsifiers are ethoxylated ethers of alkylphenols (or amines), and their action principle is flocculation-coalescence, breaking the interface film, and changing the liquid bead fold.
Oil-soluble polymers such as poly-α-olefins and polyesters can reduce the flow resistance and increase the output of turbulent crude oil, which is called crude oil drag reducer. The waxy crude oil has a high freezing point and is not easy to flow, and the addition of the ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer can improve the fluidity of the crude oil. Heavy oil containing more bitumen, high viscosity, difficult to produce and transport, with an emulsifier formulated into an oil-in-water emulsion, the viscosity is significantly reduced.
Use phosphonate, polyacrylate to prevent scale. The main mechanisms of scale inhibition are solubilization, electrostatic repulsion, crystal malformation and dispersion. The corrosion inhibitor works mainly through the adsorption film. Commonly used fungicides are acrolein or quaternary ammonium.
